BCC Selects GAWA Young Geographer of the Year Representative

Year 10 ACE HASS Class entered the 2024 Geographical Association of Western Australia (GAWA) Young Geographer of the Year competition. The students were asked to research a geographical change that has occurred in a location within Western Australia that has negatively impacted the liveability of that area, and then create a relevant solution for this change that would regenerate the environment and boost human wellbeing.

The finished posters were an amazing testament to the dedication and effort shown by the participating students and made it difficult for the Head of HASS to select the one student that would be sent into the competition as the BCC representative.

Well done to our two shortlisted students Dilith Tennakoon (middle) and Jahmila Ogatis (right), and a big congratulations to our winner Kasharla Emmerton-Smith (left) who will represent BCC in the competition.
