On Thursday, 9 May, the BCC Wall of Fame welcomed two remarkable individuals into its prestigious ranks.
The event was held to honour of ex-students, Jake Kavanagh, gold medal winner at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022 in the 3 x 3 Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team and Jordan D’Silva, an astrophysicist recognised for his groundbreaking work with the James Webb Space Telescope in collaboration with NASA.

The ceremony commenced with an opening address by our Principal, Ms. Belinda Hall. Ms. Lesley Glass then delivered an exceptional summary of the recipients’ extraordinary accomplishments. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests who attended, including Hon. Dr. Anne Aly MP, Mr. Michael Clarke (RSL), Ms. Rachelle Lorimer (Principal of Ballajura Primary School), and members of the College Board.
The Hospitality students played a pivotal role, meticulously preparing and serving a delectable luncheon under the supervision of their teacher, Ms Samara Burgess. Additionally, we were treated to a captivating classical guitar performance by Sharlene Marasigan, and Mitchell Cartwright graced us with a moving “Welcome to Country”.
Congratulations to Jake Kavanagh and Jordan D’Silva for leaving an indelible mark on our community and inspiring future generations!
