Education Support
The Education Support Team at Ballajura Community College offer a comprehensive curriculum designed for adolescent students with special educational needs. Our priority is life skill development with an emphasis on developing each student’s social, emotional and skill level ready for work and life beyond school.
The Education Support Team at Ballajura Community College are committed to developing in each student the ability to function as independently as possible in their school, in their community, in their home and in their future workplace.
Our Career Education, Community Learning and Academic programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of the students. Literacy, Numeracy, Independent travel training and fully supported work placements are key features of our program. Parents meet with their child’s teacher to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or an Individual Transition Plan (ITP) identifying specific needs of their child.
The Work Experience Program educates and provides students with the necessary skills to enable smooth transition from school to the workplace. Students are trained and work either independently or fully supported, depending upon their abilities and requirements.
