To ensure the safety of all students, there are procedures for entering the College after the start of the school day or leaving before 2:55pm.
Any student arriving late to school is required to enter and sign in via Student Services, where a late slip will be issued.
Where a student needs to leave early to attend an appointment, the parent will need to notify the College in advance so an early leaver slip can be generated and the attendance roll adjusted. Students will generally leave from Student Services but a prior arrangement can be made to leave from the Cassowary exit.
Good Standing at Ballajura Community College is a whole-school support strategy that aligns with the Positive Student Behaviour Policy, recognising students who uphold the College’s REACH values.
All students begin each year with Good Standing, allowing them to participate in extracurricular and reward activities. To maintain this status, students must exhibit positive behaviour, adhere to the Dress Code, maintain at least 90% attendance and demonstrate punctuality and positive engagement in learning.
Good Standing may be lost for three weeks if a student breaches the code of conduct, engages in serious misconduct, fails to follow the Dress Code despite support, or has poor attendance, punctuality or engagement. Losing Good Standing will result in the student forfeiting privileges including the right to represent Ballajura Community College at an individual or team event and attendance at invitational events and other extra-curricular activities.
